About the Standing Committee Meeting

The Standing Committee Meeting is one of the highest decision-making gatherings of the Church of Nigeria. It brings together Archbishops, Bishops and their wives, Diocesan Legal Officers, Women Delegates, and representatives of the laity to deliberate on issues of doctrine, mission, national witness, and administrative matters affecting the Church.

Over the years, the Standing Committee has played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the Church through resolutions on evangelism, theological training, clergy welfare, and Christian engagement with society.
